Tata Steel – The 100 year old steel company that ushered in the industrial revolution in India, owes its existence and achievements to its Founder – Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata and the guiding philosophies laid down by him. This great and unparalleled visionary who sowed the seeds of industrialisation in India, will be remembered on his 171th birth anniversary on 3rd March, 2010. Like previous years, Tata Steel will be celebrating the birth anniversary of J N Tata amidst fanfare and enthusiasm. As a tribute to this great legend, all Divisions of Tata Steel and Tata Group Companies will be commemorating this special day in their own characteristic manner. The detail programme of the celebrations is given below:-

Illumination at Jubilee Park: Mr. Syamal Gupta, Director, Tata Sons, will inaugurate the illumination at the Founder's statue in Jubilee Park at 6.30 pm on 2nd March, 2010. It will be open for public viewing from 3rd March till 7th March’10 (Timing – 6pm to 10pm – No Vehicles will be allowed inside during this period).
The entry of vehicle in Jubilee Park would be restricted and redirected from early morning of 2nd March 2010 till 10.00 pm. From 3rd to 7th March 2010 entry of vehicle in Jubilee Park would be restricted from 3.30 pm to 10.00 pm.
Exhibition: A special exhibition as part of the Founder's Day Celebration is being organized. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Mr. Sam Palia, Director, Tata Sons, at Jubilee Park (next to children's park) on 2nd March'10 at 6.45 p.m. The exhibition will be open for all visitors from 3rd March to 7th March'10 from 10.00am to 7.30pm.

Founder’s Day Celebration inside the Works: Founder’s Day Procession will begin from the statue near the Works Main gate at 7.00am. Homage will be paid to the legendary visionary and Founder – J N Tata by all the dignitaries present.
Founders Day Pageantry in the Town: A colorful pageantry will be organized with participation and support of the citizens of Jamshedpur and local administration. This pageantry will be flagged off by Mr. H M Nerurkar, Managing Director – Tata Steel in front of the Founders Statue near General Post Office, Bistupur at 9.30 am. The pageantry will include floats from Associate Companies, social organizations, JAP and RAF.
Founder’s Day Sports - Various sporting events will be organized at the Gopal Maidan from 2:00 pm onwards. The Prize distribution for the winners of different sports will start at 3.20 pm.
Laser Fountain and Musical Fountain Show: Like last year, this year as well, there will be four shows of the Laser show and Musical Fountain from 2nd March’10 to 7th March’09 on usual charges. Show timing are as follows - 1st Show – 6:30 pm, 2nd Show – 7:30 pm, 3rd Show – 8:30 pm, 4th Show – 9:30 pm
Barricades – Following traffic points will be temporarily barricaded on 3rd March 2010 from 8.00.a.m. to 11.00 a.m.
