- Special Economic Zone (SEZ) – First in the State of Jharkhand.
Adityapur is an industrially developed town located at 100 KM from state capital Ranchi, the newly created district of Seraikela Kharswan in Jharkhand State. It is located at a distance of about 8 KM from Tatanagar Railway Station and equidistance from Jamshedpur Airport.
Given the scenario in Adityapur Industrial Area and the potential opportunities for export of automobiles and auto components, Government of Jharkhand conceived the idea of developing a product specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for this sector and nominated Adityapur Industrial Area development Authority (AIADA) as nodal agency to implement the project through PPP mode.
JUSCO and Gammon Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. formed a consortium of business entities and subsequently with AIADA formed a SPV to develop the SEZ. The newly formed company is named SEZ ADITYAPUR LIMITED (SEZAL).
- Power Distribution License
Electricity Act 2003 has allowed grant of license to two or more players for distribution of power through their own distribution system within the same area. Tapping the opportunity thus made available, JUSCO applied and has obtained the power distribution license for Saraikela Kharsawan District, which is contiguous to Jamshedpur. This will be the first district in India where two power distributing companies will operate in the same area and the customers will have a choice.
