TRANSMISSION LINE FROM JOJOBERA TO SONARI
PROJECT VISION
There is considerable growth in
demand for electrical power in Jamshedpur Township due
to new residential areas and upswing in industrial
activity. Tisco is the license holder for power
distribution in Jamshedpur and as per Electricity
Act-2003, it is obligatory on the part of the licensee
to supply quality, reliable and uninterrupted power to
al consumers on demand. This will require strengthening
of power transmission and distribution system including
laying of new transmission line and transformer
capacities across the Township. The present capacities
at Golmuri and P.H. 3 & 4 are full and there is no spare
capacity available due to ongoing expansion programme of
the Steel Company.
It is proposed to lay a 132 KV
transmission line from Jojobera to Sonari passing
through Bara. This will cater to demands of Sonari,
Uliyan, Bara, Birsanagar etc. and will also relieve some
capacity from the existing sources, which can be used
for Steel Works.
The scheme shall have provisions for
tapping power in future for supply of power to new units
like Bluescope, Tata Ryerson, TCIL and Tata Timken’s
additional requirements.
SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work includes
installation of the following
-
132 KV bay extensions at Jojober
Power Plant Yard.

To set up 132 KV transmission line from Jojobera to
Sonari via Bara.

To set up 132 KV Yard alongwith 132 KV/33KV
switch-gears at Bara.

To set up a 132 KV Yard alongwith 132 KV/33KV
switch-gears at
Sonari.

To install a 45 MVA, 132 KV/33KV transformer at
Sonari.
