Founders Day Celebrations at Tata Steel, 2007

Tata Steel is celebrating the birth anniversary of its visionary and inspirational Founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. As a tribute to this great legend, various divisions of Tata Steel and Tata Group Companies are commemorating Founder's Day on March 3, 2007 at Jamshedpur with large fanfare and enthusiasm. The detail programme of the celebrations is given below:

Founder's Day Celebration inside the Works: Founder's Day Procession will begin from the statue near the main gate at 7.00am. Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Group & Tata Steel, Tata Steel Board of Directors, Mr B. Muthuraman, Managing Director Tata Steel, Mr Jim Leng, Chairman, Corus, Mr Phillip Warren Managing Director, Corus and other important dignitaries will pay homage to the Founder. Apart from Tata Steel, dignitaries from the other Tata Group of Companies will also pay homage to the founder.

Founders Day Pageantry in the Town: As in the past a colorful pageantry is being organized with the active participation and support of the citizens of Jamshedpur and local administration. The pageantry will be flagged off by Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Sons in front of the Founders bust near Bistupur Food Plaza, at around 9.00 am on 3rd March'07.
Social organization / clubs / institutions etc. along with RAF & JAP Contingent are going to participate in this event. Floats, Marching Contingent and Dancing Troupes will be taken around the Gopal Maidan. There will be about 1000 to 1500 participants in this pageantry. Some of the Floats from inside the Works will also join the pageantry outside. The Social Organizations have also voluntarily agreed to illuminate their offices and establishments on this occasion.

The connecting roads leading to Bistupur will be temporarily blocked from 8.30 am to 11 am. Alternate routes will be available for free movement of traffic. We welcome the Citizens of Jamshedpur to come in large numbers to witness this event.

Illumination at Jubilee Park: Mr. S A Sabavala, will inaugurate the illumination at the Founder's statue in Jubilee Park at 6.30 pm on 2nd March, 2007. It will be open for public viewing from 3rd March to 7th March'07 (Timing - 6pm to 10pm - No Vehicles will be allowed inside during this period).

Zoo: As was done last year on the Founders' Day i.e. 3rd March 2007, free entry at Zoo for public.

Exhibition: A special exhibition as part of the Founder's Day Celebration is being organised. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Mr Jim Leng of Corus, at the Jubilee Park (next to children's park) on 2nd March'07 at 06.45 p.m. The exhibition will be open for all visitors from 3rd March to 7th March'07 form 9.00 am to 8.30 pm.

Fire works: Special Fire Works show has been organized to celebrate the 100 years of Tata Steel. The show will be held on 2nd March 2007 at 7.15 pm at the Beldih Golf Course

Laser Fountain & Musical Fountain Show: Like last year, this year also it has been decided to hold four shows of the Laser show & Musical Fountain from 1st March'07 to 8th March'07 on usual charges. This time some new attractions have been added in the show.

7:30 pm

3rd Show 8:30 pm
4th Show 9:30 pm

Sports: Various sporting events have also been organized at the Gopal Maidan, Jamshedpur on March 03, 2007 from 2:00 pm onwards.
